How do you get releases approved?DigitalSinRecordings wrote:
Got a few submissions awaiting approval, one of them's been there for many many months.

Just wondering if there's anything I could be doing to get things moving?! SmotheredHope wrote:
Well, it will take less time if they are correct. Why did you change this one back to its previous state?

http://www.discogs.com/history?release=1290159#latest Different formats = different entries, as pointed out by trebor31 in several of your submissions.
Aside from the submission info being correctly entered there's not much to do but to wait for votes I'm afraid. SmotheredHope edited this message 3 months ago. DigitalSinRecordings wrote:

Votes? Didn't realise it worked on a vote basis! How many do I need to be accepted? :D DigitalSinRecordings wrote:
Have now voted on my own submissions, feeling more popular already : )

Voting is not the same as rating. Rating is about how much you like the music and everybody can rate any release. Voting only appointed voters can do and is about the quality of the submitted data.

You can ask me. I'll vote if I see that you've made an effort to make a good submission, and not a crappy one. :) DigitalSinRecordings wrote:

Good question. Maybe it's the other way around - the bad ones get the attention, are fixed and subsequently voted on. I'll start adding some shitty ones to try it out. :) DigitalSinRecordings wrote:
Any chance someone could vote on this one?!

Everyone is in the same boat and has to wait until someone happens upon the submission. Besides, if you know its correct then it doesnt matter whether it gets votes - its there in the database to do everything a user can do with it Jayfive edited this message 2 months ago. Internaut wrote:

i'm waiting for long time to approve own submissions added on december 2007 aprox. elfugazi edited this message 2 months ago. Jayfive wrote:
Except for that. But the amount of people who are adding a new release, have a release with an artist(s) new to the DB AND have plans to update an artist(s) profile are frankly tiny compared to the people who need a release for their collection, wantlist, sales etc. The database does not hinge on this function. And its still no reason to come onto the forums begging for favours. But then we've got so many voters who dont have the slightest clue what they are doing you'll probably get all the votes you need. Not to mention the legion of new users who now think this is primarily a music marketplace as opposed to a database with a marketplace function attached.

Witness recent threads asking for various ebay/amazon-esque features and users assuming they have some greater say or greater authority within discogs because they sell x thousand items. Jayfive edited this message 2 months ago. Reply to this topic? |
